A Work in Progress

My Scrapbooking Room that was....
Spacious and Great and all Mine! A little getaway in our "finished basement"

Then THIS happened (May 2006)
Which in Return caused THIS to Happen! So much for a finished basement. It had to be gutted due to the 1 foot or more of water damage.
So in a hurry, during all of this mess, my scrappy stuff got moved up to David's Nursery and David got moved into a smaller room (that is actually a great room for him). Too cluttered to even scrapbook in. It was a mess!

Yes, sharing the room with hubby comic book collection. So there it sat. I tried to resume organizing a few times but it just didn't work.
So slowly between March 2007 to October 2007, supplies creep down to the dining room and didn't leave.
July organization project:

By the end of October there was most of my stuff moved down to the dining room and the addition of some new storage items:

And I am very proud to say my dining/room scrapbook space looked like this for Christmas Eve Lunch. I think it looks pretty darn good. I have cleaned out alot, re organized and sorted so much. I have more to do in the new year but I think I have accomplished a great deal of organizing and actually got caught up on most of my scrapbook layouts in the process!

I will post a picture of what remains in the scrappy/comic book room upstairs. I packed away alot of stamping products and beading stuff I had for now. More resolutions for 2008 coming soon!

Amazing Milestones

The newest milestone at our home and out and about is David learning and recognizing letters and words, repeating lines in books by repetition and now he is learning how to write his name. At night, he pretends to write letters on his wall and then uses his pretend eraser to erase it. Very cute. I will have to get it on video sometime. Tonight he did it and he knows the strokes to almost every letter in the alphabet.
His favorite letter is H. He loves making it and also the letter "i". ummmm Do you think he loves "Hi5"?
Here is his name

and Here is HOLLY that he wrote tonight for us at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

PS: Christmas has been so much fun this year. Very exciting. I will post some pictures latter. With the Holidays and all the snow, I have taken almost 400 pictures this month!!!

Dear Blogger,

Please forgive me. It has be 50 days since my last blog entry...

Hello! I am here in blog land. Been doing more blog stalking and spending time over at 2Peas. Geez, that place sucks you in and doesn't let go!

October 14th Fall is in full gear here and yesterday we put away all the outdoor toys including the little pool and the sand table. It got me thinking that next summer D will be 3 1/2. Man! time sure does go by when you are having fun. Or is it the Older you get the faster time goes by? What do 3 1/2 yr olds like? I sure he will be "into" a whole bunch of new things next summer. I can't wait. I hate to admit, but I am kinda missing the warm weather. It seems like it left us so fast. I usually love fall but the foliage hasn't been to great this year and the cold weather seems really cold. It is only 45 degrees right now...bbbrrrrrr. Get out the blankets and turn on the heat!

Since I last posted I had a birthday...34 years old, my dog Chloe turned 5. We celebrated 6 years in our house and Our 5th Wedding Anniversary was October 6th. I got to go away scrapbooking with Karen for my birthday. We rented a suite with a full kitchen, dining, living room, two bedrooms, two baths. We had an awesome time and a great visit.

So let's see... What have we been up to? I probably should have broken this up into two posts, but here it is.

Allison's Baptism:I love these pics of Holly & David...

D's first time to Maine and the Nubble Lighthouse. He loved the lighthouse, he wanted to climb on it he said. At York Beach. What a beautiful day. He loved running into the ocean with no fear. "Helping" Mommy sort scrapbooking scraps:
What to do when it was 90 degrees outside, bring the outside in:Our friends from SC came for a visit. David thought Emily was quite the princess:
Fun with snoopy snow cone machine!

At the Hopkinton Fair:

At the Lake:First day of Nursery School! D loves school. Enjoying 85 degree weather at the end of September: My little Artist!
More puddle jumping:

Fun at the Deerfield Fair. This boy is determined to drive...Only 14 years to go!

Making a BIG mess. He was looking for a tiny gold key that goes with the Blue Room toy. Needless to say, it was at the very bottom of the toy box. OCTOBER:
Chasing Rainbows:

Today! 3 more months til he is 3, so hard to believe!

Thanks for looking!

Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks

Chloe has been pretty naughty this summer. Not for any apparrent reason but she has been barking very loud and getting into stuff...maybe it is boredom. Can I send her to school in September...load her on the school bus with the rest of the neighborhood kids? Okay not really a good idea, she would probably eat all their lunches. Anyway Big D got us a book about dog training. Note to self: books like that are only good if you pick them up and read them.

One day last week, Lil d said "Chloe read her book". So I said, yes we can read a book to Chloe. He said "No, her book" and went and go the dog training book.

Here he is checking out the book, perhaps reading a synopsis on the back?

Now showing Chloe her book (this picture is so darn funny) Chloe looks pretty interested.

"Okay Chloe we are going to read" (not sure if he thought he was going to read aloud or Chloe was going to)
If Chloe could talk "Oh Man, I am bored. Please just leave me and my bone alone!"

Chloe says next "I'm outta here!" She didn't want to know anything about sitting and staying.

And she ran off into the really just the kitchen. Probably to go chew a scrapbooking supply.

The End.

August 7th! How did that happen?

I can't belive it is already August 7th, though I am really really ready for the hot weather to be done with. Especially the humid days. Very much looking forward to autumn.

Been busy and for a minute I think I forgot about my blog!!! Hopefully I will update today or tomorrow with lots of scrapbooking I have been doing.

Puddle Jumping!

How Fun! D got some new puppy rain boots last week and couldn't wait to try them outside. (he's been wearing them inside all week). Finally we got a good fast rain storm this afternoon. After the rain, we went outside to play. He loved it!
